Rev.
Glenn Walker - Director has been a Southern Baptist
Pastor for 25 years. He received his BA in Religion from
Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina and
his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary in Forth Worth, Texas. He is married to Rachel who is a
Registered Nurse and they have two children. He has led and
participated in mission trips to West Virginia, North Carolina
coast, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Brazil, South Africa,
Kenya, Zambia, Northern Africa, Honduras, and Ukraine. He has
been involved in Missions training for short-term mission trips
and Mission Conferences. He is Senior Pastor of Faith Community
Church. He has served as Moderator for the Kings Mountain
Baptist Association.
Mr.
Barry Coker - Associate Director is a member of Faith
Community Church. He received his education at Western Carolina
University. He is married to Mary. He has been a national,
state, local leader and Regional Men's Ministry Director for
Promise Keepers. He has served as Director of Men’s Ministry in
the Greater Cleveland County Baptist Association. He is been
actively involved with mission projects in Rochester, New York,
New York City, New Jersey and Long Island, New York.
Rita
Scism - Associate Director has been involved with Hands On
Missions for the past two and one half years. She has gone on
several international mission trips, works in our office on
Mondays and Fridays and is facilitating our local children’s
ministry. She is married to Reggie and they have two sons. She
is a member of New Bethel Baptist Church where she is the WMU
Director, teaches a Sunday School class and has been Vacation
Bible School Director for the past several years. Rita brings an
added dimension to the ministry as she uses her gifts to
minister to children and adults wherever God chooses to use her.
Lalisa
Carpenter - FNP-C - Medical Director. Lalisa works as a
Family Nurse Practitioner at the Spindale Family Practice.
Through the years her career has advanced from an LPN to RN and
now a Nurse Practitioner, and during all of those years, God was
preparing her for medical mission work. She went with Hands On
Missions to the Ukraine and has worked as the camp nurse for
World Changers in Raleigh. She is actively involved in her
church, Polkville Baptist Church. Lalisa is married to Craig and
has five children, Josh, Michael, Katie, Ally & Christopher.
Haley
Hoke - RN, BSN - Medical Associate. Haley is a Registered
Nurse and currently works as a School Nurse for the Cleveland
County Health Department. She graduated in May, 2004 from UNC
Chapel Hill’s school of nursing. She has since then moved back
to Shelby specifically to work with Hands On Missions. Haley has
been on mission trips to Florida, West Virginia, Tennessee,
Mexico, Ukraine, Kenya, Malawi and Brazil. She is currently
working on her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from UNC
Charlotte and her Masters in Public Health and Tropical Medicine
degree from Tulane University. She is a member of Elizabeth
Baptist Church. She is also a volunteer for the American Red
Cross and trained in national and international disaster
response.
Bryan
Evans - Associate. Bryan is currently in his third year of
his Masters in Divinity program at Gardner Webb University.
Bryan graduated from UNC Charlotte in 2002 with a religious
studies major and sociology minor. Bryan is presently a
community based service professional at Kingspoint Academy, LLC.
He counsels at-risk youth in the community as a one-on-one
counselor and legal guardian. He is the Ebenezer Missionary
Baptist Association’s Young Men Director. He is a member of
Ramseur Missionary Baptist Church. Bryan has gone on two trips
to Malawi, Africa with Hands On Missions.
Mary
Coker - Office Manager Mary is married to Barry. She has a
degree in business from CCC and is an APICS certified specialist
in field of materials management. She has 20 years experience,
accounting, sales & marketing and production & inventory
control. Office management. She is actively involved with Faith
community Church. She is a member of the Board of directors for
Pregnancy Resource Center of Cleveland County.
Chip
Camp - Associate Chip is involved with Faith Community
Church and is the owner and operator of Quail Hollow. Chip is
married to Amber and has two sons Tripp and John Matt. Chip
received his education from The University of North Carolina at
Charlotte. He likes the outdoors and is an avid hunter and
fisherman.
Carlos
Leite Alves - 45, has been a member for 11 years of the
Quitauna Baptist church, Osasco, São Paulo, Brazil, where he is
Deacon and is Director of
the Department of Evangelism and Missions for 4 years. He has a
degree from the University of Osasco and a diploma of
specialization in English from the Highland University NM. He is
married to Márcia Vaz Leite Alves and they are the parents of
Barbara Vaz Leite Alves . He has worked with the Hands On
Missions since its beginning and the last four years has been
the director of Hands on Missions-Brazil.
